Busy Media Relations unit needs diverse

Strong computer, public relations, and organizational skills are
sought by the Media Relations Unit. If you would enjoy interfacing with police

Administrative Assistant volunteer, supporting our Public Information
Officers in their daily duties. This very busy office needs you to maintain an
electronic unit calendar of special events, news conferences, and deadlines;
record news footage relating to high profile and other cases; obtain copies
of police reports from our Records division; and additional related duties.
Desired Skills: Strong
computer skills (including the ability to enter data
in a Microsoft Access database, and maintain an
electronic unit calendar); ability to become trained
in the operation of television/video recording
equipment; professional demeanor and customer
services skills, including the ability to establish
effective working relationships with a variety of
police personnel and the media; accuracy and
attention to detail; and the ability to maintain
strict confidentiality.
Hours Needed: Volunteer
help is needed to cover as many hours as possible
between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through
Friday; you may choose from these hours that would
work best with your personal schedule.
