Directly assist detectives with
investigations
Both the Superstition and Dobson Criminal Investigations Units
seek computer and administrative skills to help them conduct investigations. As
a Criminal Investigations Assistant you will be responsible for
contacting victims for follow-up information, collecting surveillance videos
from local merchants, running computer checks on criminals, preparing photo
line-ups, assembling intelligence packets, placing and following up on lab requests, redacting copies
of police reports before they are released, assembling information for COMPSTAT
statistics, requesting information from other resources, and related duties.
Your assistance will help detectives to quickly and efficiently complete
investigations and directly impact our crime-fighting capabilities.
Desired Skills: Solid data
entry/computer skills; ability to work with or
become trained in the use of various electronic
equipment, such as digital recorders, digital
copying equipment, and photocopiers; accuracy and
attention to detail; professional demeanor with the
public and police personnel.
Special Requirement: Must be able to successfully complete an
open book computerized test (25 questions) once every two years to become
"Terminal Operator Certified" in order to access criminal justice computer
systems. You will receive guidance as you take the test. Must have current
driver's license and be able to operate a department
vehicle.
Hours Needed: May vary by
district. Superstition is currently seeking
assistance on days, evenings, or weekends -- your
choice! Dobson is currently seeking assistance
during traditional business hours.
