Bilingual skills needed for 9-1-1 calls
If you are fluent in English and Spanish, your skills would be very helpful
in our Communications Center. As a Communications Spanish Translator, you
will assist 9-1-1 operators by joining telephone calls from Spanish speakers and
translating information between the caller and the 9-1-1 operator.
Desired Skills: Must be calm and clear under stressful circumstances;
must be able to hear well on the telephone; must be able to speak concisely and
relay information on a timely basis; accuracy; attention to detail; ability to
move around the Communications Center to join calls at various stations.
Special Requirement:
Must become certified at the Intermediate Spanish level by the City of Mesa.
Hours Needed: Any -- volunteers are needed 24/7.
