Basic Training

The mission of the Basic Academy Staff is to work in partnership with each Police Officer Recruit to promote individual growth and success while providing them with the knowledge and skills necessary to meet AZPOST standards for certification as a Peace Officer. At the same time the Academy Staff will work towards developing within the recruits a professional commitment to the Mesa Police Department and the community we serve. This squad is comprised of the Basic Academy Sergeant and three Recruit Training Officers.
