Investigators search for answers in east Mesa
death investigation
Update June 13, 2008 -- As the case has
progressed, information and evidence has surfaced
that has caused investigators to rule this case a
murder. Information obtained from the office of the
Maricopa County Medical Examiner has revealed that
the victim, 30-year-old Travis Alexander, had wounds
that do not appear to be self-inflicted and the
investigation is being treated as a homicide.
The motive is unclear at this point. The
investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information
related to the murder of Travis Alexander is asked
to contact the Mesa Police Department at

Media Release on June 10, 2008 --
On June 9, 2008 at 10:30 p.m. the Mesa Police
Department received a phone call from a person
stating that they had found their friend dead in his
east Mesa residence.
Officers responded to the residence located at
11428 E. Queensborough Avenue and made entry.
Investigators located a deceased male within the
residence. There were signs of trauma to the body of
the deceased male; however, it has not been
determined how the injuries were inflicted. He was
later identified as 30-year-old Travis Alexander of
Mesa.
The body was discovered after friends of the
deceased became worried about his welfare after not
hearing from him for several days. They contacted
the police after discovering the body inside the
residence.
At this time investigators have not labeled this
death investigation as a homicide or a suicide.
