Purse Snatchings
We have been experiencing a series of purse snatchings
from elderly females recently in shopping center parking lots. We
recommend using a fanny pack in place of a purse. If you choose to carry
a purse, make sure you carry it with the strap across your body and not
over your shoulder. This will make it more difficult for the thief to
grab it from you and run. We recommend that you surrender your purse if
approached by a thief to avoid serious injury. In one recent case the
woman was punched in the face when she refused to surrender her purse.
