The above positions are not open on a continual basis.  

Some positions require or prefer at least an Associate's Degree or equivalent. For many positions, photographic training or experience is required.  Additional coursework in forensics, criminal justice, administration of justice, chemistry, biology, and/or other scientific fields is beneficial and in some case required.  These courses are offered at many community colleges, via correspondence, and at the university level.
