What Is Community Policing?

Community policing is a new dimension of law enforcement methods that focus on working closer with the citizens toward common goals.  How?  Traditional policing typically was constructed of the "call and we will arrive" theory.  Community policing takes a proactive approach to defeating crime at its source, not only after the crime has been committed.
