Driving History Standard
Mesa Fire Department Driving Record Standard for
Firefighter Recruit
When a job offer is made, a five (5) year driving
record is checked. Confirmation of a candidate
with a driving record that exceeds any ONE of the
following list of offenses requires approval by the
Chief or designee.
- Three (3) moving violations
- Two (2) at fault accidents
- Two (2) speeding violations of 20 mph over
the posted speed
- One (1) DUI
- One (1) vehicular manslaughter
- One (1) reckless driving
- One (1) leaving the scene of an accident
Any candidate with one more than the number of
offenses per line listed above, would not be
considered for hire.
