Fire Maintenance Division
The fire department's fleet maintenance shop
is state of the art. The crew has access to
several work bays and a fabrication bay.
Five mechanics have attained master Level
III Emergency Vehicle Technician (EVT)
certifications. They also have all received
Automotive Service Excellence master car and
heavy truck certifications. They are
responsible for all maintenance of fire
department vehicles, including in-frame
engine overhauls, fire pump and transmission
overhauls, and fabrications.
Mechanics rotate on a 24-hour-a-day
on-call schedule, providing round-the-clock
emergency service.
The maintenance staff has built props for
our training facility, including an airplane
wing prop equipped with liquid propane gas.
They also assist with training on pumpers
and ladder trucks.
